STATESVILLE, N.C. — NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Justin Haley will return to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards at Pocono Raceway for this weekend’s ModSpace 150.
Haley will reunite with Mason Mitchell Motorsports, driving the No. 78 Chevrolet.
The duo partnered last season to help Haley earn his first ARCA win at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, and the 18-year-old has won his last two ARCA starts, having scored the victory for MDM Motorsports at Talladega Superspeedway in addition to his win at Springfield.
Haley will pull double duty this weekend, as he will also race in the Overton’s 150 on Saturday for GMS Racing. He does have one prior start at Pocono with ARCA, finishing seventh last June.
“Having prior starts at Pocono will only (accelerate) the learning curve for the weekend,” Haley said. “Having this opportunity with MMM will be a great way for me to learn more during the course of the weekend. Mason and (crew chief) Kevin (Reed) have always been great to work with. This is a very close group that works hard to bring the best car to the track. They’re just as determined as I am to end up in victory lane.”
“We’ve really been on a roll racing with ARCA. We had to earn both wins and overcome a lot. Being persistent throughout the race is key for us. I would like to make it three wins in a row in my last three starts. If we do execute our plan, we will have a shot at the end of 60 laps.”
In his rookie Truck Series season, Haley has earned one top-five and seven top-10 finishes in nine starts. His best finish so far is a third-place finish earlier this month at Kentucky Speedway.
Haley was forced to sit out the first two Truck races of the season due to age restrictions, but celebrated his 18th birthday on April 28 and sits 12th in the series standings.
