BROWNSBURG, Ind. — RFMS Racing President Don Fike has tabbed Travis Braden to drive the team’s No. 27 Ford for the full ARCA Racing Series schedule in 2018.
Braden has competed in the ARCA series part-time since 2015. He won his first ARCA race in his first-career series start at Lucas Oil Raceway that season, and has posted seven top-10 finishes in 10 series starts overall, including four starts for RFMS Racing this past season.
A West Virginia native, Braden is well-known in the asphalt late model community as a former NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Rookie of the Year and a two-time champion of the ARCA/CRA Super Series, scoring back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014.
The Brownsburg, Indiana-based team will be headed by crew chief Dan Glauz and car chief Casey Swift. Braden will also provide an additional hand in the shop throughout the year.
“After working with these guys for a month or so last season, I feel pretty blessed to get to join Don, Dan and Casey for an entire season and finish what we started in 2017,” said Braden. “After the first few weeks, we started to mesh well as a team and really make progress with these cars and finding speed.”
“There’s a lot more we know we can work on and that’s going to be our goal. We have a baseline, and we know what seems to work well and where we need to focus some more attention. We’re adding some new cars and equipment to the stable as well. Things are looking fantastic, and we are chomping at the bit to get the season started!”
“We couldn’t do this 2018 season without our loyal support of our sponsors,” added Fike. “We would like to thank all the people that pitch in to make this happen.”
