Ryan Millington, 13, of Statesville, N.C. traveled south to Dillon Motor Speedway in South Carolina over the weekend for a Saturday/Sunday racing doubleheader.
The decision to do so ended up being a winning one.
Millington started third in the main event both days and walked off with two legend car feature victories, increasing his total for the season to four overall wins and eight Young Lions class wins.
“It’s always nice to get wins, no matter how they come,” Millington said. “It was a smaller field than we’d hoped for, but we were able to do some good research and we learned some things with the setup that I think will help us in the future.”
“I’m thankful to my family and everyone with Kyle Beattie Racing for everything they do to make this possible, along with TAO TAO USA. I’m excited about the upcoming week!”
Tuesday night, Ryan will be practicing at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the June 8 Bojangles Summer Shootout Series opener. On Wednesday, the teenager will either race his SKE Chassis mini outlaw at Millbridge or head for Atlanta Motor Speedway to test for Thursday night’s Thursday Thunder Series legend car race.
The team will top the weekend off with legend races at Anderson Motor Speedway in South Carolina on Friday night and South Boston Speedway in Virginia on Saturday.
