(Lancaster, S.C. – TEAM PR) – Michael Brown qualified first and never looked back as he picked up the Crate Late Model win at Lancaster Speedway in Lancaster, S.C. on Saturday night behind the wheel of his MBR Rocket Chassis No. 06.
For Brown, the win was made much sweeter by the fact that he’s been close a few times earlier this year only to come up empty.
“This is unbelievable,” the elated driver said following his winning performance. “It feels so good to finally get a win this year! We were last out to qualify and we set fast time at 21.0 seconds. This car was the best it’s been in a long time! We worked really hard in the offseason and took a long time to go through it and get it ready. We wanted to come out of the box fast and we did. I can’t thank my team and my sponsors enough for sticking with me!”
Michael has high hopes he can continue his winning ways this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.
“We’re going to run at Charlotte’s dirt track on Friday with the NDRA Crate Late Model portion of the Circle K NOS Energy Outlaw Showdown and then go to Cherokee Speedway on Saturday to race, both in the Blackwell Motorsports No. 27,” Michael said. “We’d love to get two wins on the weekend but as long as we come out of both shows with strong runs and the car in one piece I will be happy. Both of them should be tough races!”
