MOORESVILLE, N.C. — NASCAR K&N Pro Series East upstart Tyler Ankrum and third-generation stock car racer Colby “The Kid” Howard will be featured guests on tonight’s Stock Car Show, airing live at 7 ET on the Performance Motorsports Network, Spreaker.com (search Race Chaser Radio) and the free PMN Radio App.
Ankrum returns to the Race Chaser/PMN Studios after yet another eye-opening run for DGR-Crossley in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East Series, this time at Bristol. The 16-year-old California native (now living outside Mooresville, North Carolina) is third in series points, but the two racers ahead of him are not running the full schedule, making him the de-facto points leader by five markers.
He’ll talk about his chances at a championship run and what it was like to take on the “Last Great Colosseum” in a full-size stock car.
Howard, 16, joins the show via phone as he prepares for this weekend’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway, his first ever ARCA Racing Series start. He’ll race the Mason Mitchell Motorsports No. 78 and the driver they call “The Kid” from South Carolina is mighty anxious.
Hear his account of his recent Salem test, his thoughts on adjusting to the heavier, more powerful ARCA cars from his NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late model stock car, and what it’s like to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather Buddy (four championships at Greenville-Pickens Speedway) and his father Rodney (former NASCAR Busch Series racer).
Hosts Tom Baker, Jacob Seelman, Chris Murdock and Cisco Scaramuzza will have all the latest news from around the Motorsports world including discussion about the latest news from the Ford Performance camp after a series of announcements about their Mustang brand this week.
