DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Once the NASCAR XFINITY Series got going in Friday night’s Coca-Cola Firecracker 250, Mother Nature didn’t agree.

Rain squashed any chance of the race restarting with only 11 laps into the 100-lap event at the Daytona Int’l Speedway. In the meantime, fans, crew members and drivers were treated to the Professional Fight League matches at the octagon in the DIS infield during the rain delay.

Brennan Poole won the Coors Light pole for the race as Blake Koch and Ben Kennedy powered around the No. 48 DC Solar Chevrolet in the opening laps and Koch assumed the lead once racing resumes at noon ET Saturday (CNBC, MRN, Sirius XM).

Fans can watch the NASCAR XFINITY Series event with a Coke Zero 400 event ticket but Friday’s ticket-holders can still stay after the NXS race to watch the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race later in the evening. However, the seats go to the ticket holder for the Cup series race.
