Andrew Ranger already has three wins at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and he’s on fast pace as he chases a fourth.

Ranger had the fastest lap in both NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 practice sessions Saturday afternoon for the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 Sunday.

The Roxton Pond, Quebec, driver had a lap of 82.845 seconds (106.855 mph) around the 2.459-mile, 10-turn road course in the final practice. Ranger’s No. 27 Mopar/Pennzoil Dodge also led the first practice with a lap of 83.399 (106.145), which was third overall.

Ranger has two wins in the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200, and one in the season-opening race at CTMP. But he is winless there since 2009.

Jeff Lapcevich, who has finished as the runner-up in four of the last five CTMP events, was second quickest in practice at 83.222 (106.371) and rookie Kevin Lacroix was third at 83.428 (106.108).

Championship points leader Scott Steckly was fourth fastest in practice, followed by Alex Labbe.

DJ Kennington, Marc-Antoine Camirand, Alex Tagliani, Gary Klutt and Kevin Poitras.

Qualifying is scheduled for 4:40 p.m. Saturday, while the green flag for the Pinty’s presents the Clarington 200 is slated for Sunday at 10:05 a.m.
