EASLEY, S.C. — Todd Gilliland continued his recent run of NASCAR K&N Pro Series success during a 90-minute practice Saturday afternoon at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

After four straight poles and three straight wins to start the West season, Gilliland and his Bill McAnally Racing team brought their speed east and topped the speed charts ahead of the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150.

The 16-year-old Sherrills Ford, N.C. native toured the historic half-mile oval in 19.383 seconds (92.865 mph), going more than a second under the current trajust edging out Dillon Bassett for the top position by .005 of a second.

Bassett clocked the second-fastest lap during the session, at 19.388 seconds (92.841 mph), followed by defending race winner Kyle Benjamin in third (19.456/92.516).

Harrison Burton and New Smyrna winner Ronnie Bassett Jr. completed the top five, followed by Jay Beasley, Tyler Dippel, Collin Cabre, Ruben Garcia Jr. and J.P. Morgan.

Three cautions flew during the session.

Dylan Murry looped his No. 28 Rette Jones Racing Ford in turn three 15 minutes in, while reported fluid in turns one and two slowed the action with 36 minutes to go in the hour-and-a-half open practice. The final slowdown came with 28 minutes remaining, for debris on the frontstretch.

Group qualifying for the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet 150 is slated for 4:15 p.m.
