After a two-year hiatus, Pro Stock Motorcycle will return to the pro category lineup at the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway in 2015.
With a storied history at the popular NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event in central Minnesota, NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle teams will once again thrill fans at BIR with amazing six-second runs at more than 190 mph at the penultimate regular season event.
The two-wheel class last competed at Brainerd in 2012. Defending world champion Andrew Hines holds both ends of the track performance record at 6.865 seconds (2012) and 196.82 mph (2005). The Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson rider is also the winningest active rider at the track with two victories.
Other past Brainerd winners who are expected to challenge Hines for the bike victory in 2015 are Hector Arana Sr., Eddie Krawiec, Matt Smith and LE Tonglet.
In 2015, Pro Stock Motorcycle will once again be featured at 16 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events, including 10 races in the regular season and six in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s playoffs.
