The 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross season will also be marked by significant major partnerships, both on and off the track. The season’s first race will be held at the Top Gear Festival Barbados, marking the series’ first visit to the Caribbean. Red Bull GRC at Top Gear Festival Barbados will be the first partnership between the two entities and will kick off an action-packed summer of rallycross competition.
The series also announced that a $500,000 points fund will be available to drivers competing in the 2014 season. This year’s points fund, the most significant in series history, will see drivers competing for up to $20,000 for a race victory.
“We are excited to announce that drivers will compete for half a million dollars over the course of the upcoming Red Bull Global Rallycross season,” said Red Bull Global Rallycross CEO Colin Dyne. “The increased payouts should see drivers battling even harder for race victories and the series championship.”
Racing superstars Ken Block, Tanner Foust, Scott Speed and Travis Pastrana are among the many world-class talents who will compete in Red Bull Global Rallycross in 2014. Factory-backed organizations from Ford, Subaru and Hyundai will compete, while Volkswagen will enter the series with longtime IndyCar front-runners Andretti Autosport, contributing to the strongest driver and team lineup in the world of rallycross.
